Scripture for 2023 and Beyond

Proverbs 3:5-10 from the Message Bible

This scripture speaks to me on a new level this year. I am not sure why, possibly it is because I have walked through a couple of difficult years. Honestly, I am tired of trying to figure things out on my own. I have discovered that my limited ability to see the entire picture puts me at a huge disadvantage. God sees all and knows all; I desire and will strive this year and beyond to listen for His voice in everything I do and everywhere I go.

The scripture says. “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over. For those that aren't familiar with the Message Translation, here is verses 5 and 6 in the English Standard Version; you may be more familiar with this version: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

1 of Many Benefits of Serving God:

God will provide direction for our path when we Trust Him with our entire heart. The older I get the more aware I am of the fact that I can’t figure out much on my own and due to mere human limitations I may be wrong.

But, there is Great News to every Jesus Follower (Believer). God speaks to His sheep; John 10:27 says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

God speaks to us through His word, as we meditate on scripture; oftentimes God will speak in a quiet voice to our heart; He also speak through others, like your pastor. His voice brings calm to chaos.

Nugget for Today: When we trust, “we have a firm belief in the reliability of God with our whole heart and stop relying on our limited knowledge to make decisions. When we listen for God’s direction in Everything we do and Everywhere we go; God will direct and keep us on the right path.

Thank you God for providing direction to me when I rely on you completely with my whole heart.
